ESG focus areas

We focus on the ESG topics most material to our business and the places we operate in.

The Company is committed to meeting the disclosure requirements relating to Article 9 of EU SDFR and TCFD which form part of our 2023 Annual Report, and we continue to report that 100% of our revenues are aligned to the EU Taxonomy criteria for Climate Change Mitigation.

On the environmental side, our priorities are generating renewable energy to mitigate climate change and carbon emissions, while managing our local environments and waste responsibly.

Our social impact is focused on health and safety, our supply chain, and contributing to our local communities.

Our governance priorities are to reinforce human rights and prevent modern slavery, ensure anti-bribery, anti-corruption, and anti-money laundering processes are in place and institute the best possible management practices.

Due diligence

ESG integration aims to enhance the risk and return profile of the Company by incorporating sustainability considerations into the traditional investment analysis process. This approach focuses on maximising the positive impacts of our investments while avoiding or mitigating any material negative effects or risk.

ESG factors are documented during due diligence, and the Investment Committee considers these, along with any mitigation plans, prior to making investment decisions.

Operating the asset

We monitor ESG performance across all our assets, covering issues including climate change, governance standards, risk register, health and safety audits, environmental matters and local community projects.

To support this, we promote a culture of proactive incident reporting to enable timely remediation and conduct due diligence and performance reviews regularly. We also regularly report on the ESG performance across all our assets.

Engagement

As a responsible investor in the renewable energy sector, we feel it’s our duty to engage with and actively promote sustainable practices throughout the industry. Engagement for us signifies proactive and purposeful communication with our key stakeholders, ranging from local communities to investors, service providers, regulatory bodies and industry experts.
We aim to enhance the profile of our investments over their lifetimes and generate long-term value for our shareholders and all stakeholders.
